F. David's Story
Life
After high school graduation I attended Chaffey College until '61 when I joined the Air Force. I was based in Minot AFB in North Dakota and at Portland Air Defense Sector based in Corvallis OR. unitl separation in '65. I worked for So Cal Edison between '65 and '77. I married my wife soon after my separation from active duty with USAF. She was an actrive RN at the time. We have three sons, all grown now. We moved from So Cal in the late '77 to Bend Oregon. My wife continued practicing and I eventually went to work for and retired from the State of Oregon. The Boys grew and prospered and became men in thier own right. We have three grandsons now who we see and spoil as often as possible. My wife is now a Nanny, caring for two children of a pair of Orthopedic Surgeons. She plans on retireing when we both are 65 - a couple of months from now. Update (May 09...Expand for more

Workplace
After my stint in USAF, I worked for So Cal Edison until the late 70s. We then moved to Bend, Oregon where I worked for the State until my Retirement in December 2003. My work consisted of conducting OSHA type inspection activity in Central and Eastern Oregon, as needed through a scheduling system.
Military
After Basic Training at Lackland AFB, and Specialty training at Keesler AFB in Mississippi, I was assigned to the Minot Air Defense Sector in North Dakota as a SAGE Operator. When Mc Namara shut the unit down I was transfered to the Adair Air Force Station in the Portland Air Defense Sector near Corvalis Oregon. As a SAGE Operator we monitored and defended the US Air Space from foreign intrusion. I was discharged in 1967 after being separated to civilian life in 1965.
